Did you know that according to VA officials the overall rate of suicides among veterans has held steady at around 22 a day for roughly a decade, but researchers are seeing a troubling increase in the rate of younger veterans taking their lives? The change from battlefront to homefront can be particularly challenging for combat veterans, who often are working through war related PTSD, depression, anxiety and more. Our support for these American Heroes should never end once they come home from war. Corporate and individual supporters are needed to help more combat warriors overcome physical, mental, and emotional wounds incurred in the line of duty.
Proceeds from this local military charity event go to veterans support organizations that direct support towards critical areas of need including Suicide Prevention, Veteran Employment, PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury rehabilitation, Family and Caregiver support, Housing and Homelessness, Golf and Sports rehabilitation as well as the Tee It Up for the Troops outreach program, REUNION, where combat veterans are reunited with their comrades from the battlefield.
Thank you to Heathrow Country Club and Legacy Club of Alaqua Lakes for helping our American heroes get back on course!
Event is open to the public.

12th Annual REUNION event reuniting combat veterans
January 11, 2024
- Venue: Reunion Country Club
-
Contact Information:
Tee It Up for the Troops relies on corporate sponsors and golfers to assist us in reuniting combat veterans and to help them transition from the battlefront to the homefront. This includes help for the hidden wounds of war like anxiety, depression, isolation, and suicide.
Mental health professionals have touted the benefits of reuniting combat veterans with their comrades to discuss their days of service, injuries and post-military struggles. They still want to support each other, and the bonds forged in war serve to help them survive after returning home. The game of golf serves as the backdrop for this REUNION and provides additional physical and psychological benefits.
What? REUNION Outreach Program
Who? Corporate and Individual Sponsors and Golfers
When? January 11-14, 2024
Where? Reunion Resort, Kissimmee, Florida. This golf and spa resort is within six miles of the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
Why? As a sponsor of REUNION, you will enjoy time interacting with combat veterans and play signature golf courses designed by three of golf’s greatest legends: Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, and Arnold Palmer. Your sponsorship will also give our combat veterans time together to discuss their post-military struggles, see their comrades in a supportive environment, and share tactics to help them survive and thrive at home.
Our sponsorship packages offer businesses, foundations, and foursomes an opportunity to gain exposure as outstanding supporters of combat veterans and their caregivers. We have developed sponsorships for differing budgets and commitment levels. You can also contact us to see if we can create a specialized sponsorship opportunity for you!
